Jack O'Neill

ACTOR/SINGER-SONGWRITER/CO-FOUNDER JACKOPIERCE

The son of an army paratrooper and a classically trained pianist, Jack O'Neill grew up moving through army towns across the American South before finally finding his home in New York City.

A co-founding member of the Texas band Jackopierce, O'Neill has recorded and toured for over 35 years, sharing stages with Dave Matthews Band, Sheryl Crow, Counting Crows, Rob Thomas, John Mayer, Toad the Wet Sprocket, and others. The band's music has been produced by T-Bone Burnett (Academy Award and Grammy winner), Stan Lynch (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), and John Fields (Jonas Brothers, Pink). Jackopierce performed original music on Late Night with Conan O'Brien backed by Max Weinberg and the Max Weinberg 7, and played the Blockbuster RockFest in front of nearly 500,000 people.

North Star -- his second solo album, produced by J. Michael Smith at Sunland Studio in Dallas -- is out now. Cinematic and spare, part bedroom confessional and indie-rock attitude, sharp and literate with equal shades of humor and pathos. Stories about good people doing their best in a turbulent world.

As an actor, O'Neill is SAG-AFTRA/AEA. Television credits include Law & Order (NBC), FBI (CBS), and New Amsterdam (NBC). Film credits include In the Night (Dir: Shireen Khaled) and Listen F$ckers (Dir: Sayra Player). He was an early member of The Bats, the resident acting company at The Flea Theater in NYC under director Jim Simpson, with theater credits including world premieres of plays by A.R. Gurney, Kate Robin, and Len Jenkins. He currently works at the Master level in Bob Krakower's acting workshop.

ABOUT THE SONGS

From the unapologetically frank promise of love and faith (North Star), to sobriety and the battle to reclaim your truest self in a brutal world (Damn Good Son), these are stories based on real-world experience -- played close to the vest and closer to the heart. Weight of the World looks at the march of time and the changes it forces on all of us. Badlands explores the unspoken, unknowable things that two people share -- the things that motivate them to either love or to run.
